Hu Jingxuan
Hu Jingxuan graduated from the Central Saint Martins, CSM) and the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). At present, he is the vice president and associate professor of the School of Creative Design of Shenzhen University of Technology, the professional leader of new media art, the director of the International Institute of Contemporary Art, and the distinguished researcher of the China Academy of Fine Arts.
Hu Jingxuan often discusses the relationship between abstraction and space in her works. Through simple lines and color blocks, she creates a deep and three-dimensional space effect, which gives viewers a strong spatial experience visually, thus building a Zen-like divine world and expressing tranquility and beauty incisively and vividly. Her artistic expression is full of innovation and diversity, and through the combination of different media and techniques, she has created many profound and expressive works of art.
Her works of art have won many awards in local and overseas art competitions and have been collected by many institutions, societies, schools, and individuals. The main awards won are the 2018 UOB Painting of the Year UOB Annual Painting Competition (the most influential and oldest painting competition in Southeast Asia) and the ArtGemini Prize, an international contemporary art award.
